How It All Started

Peter Zantingh Sr., a lifelong marketer of feeder pigs, cattle, and initially, fruits and vegetables, ventured into the cull sow and boar operation in 1988. Recognizing an opportunity, he began purchasing 30-40 animals weekly and personally trucking them to Ohio. His dedication and vision laid the foundation for what would become a thriving enterprise. With Peter Sr.’s retirement in 2001, the second generation assumed leadership, expanding the business into the dynamic operation it is today. Building on a legacy of expertise and commitment to excellence, Zantingh Direct Inc. continues to innovate and grow in the swine industry.
